Stalling 302

Lately the 302 in my '72 has taken to stalling when it's partially warmed up. It starts good and will idle...even in DRIVE but when it gets partially warmed up it will not idle, but dies when I come to a stop. It starts right up again but will not idle. I can keep it going with the gas pedal in other word I have to use both feed to drive. If I continue to drive it'll straight itself out and run OK.

I have a manual choke and I know that it is working OK. This seems to happen when it is snowing outside so maybe it has something to do with moisture. Any ideas?

I've heard of coils malfunctioning when they get hot. Or, vapor lock?

I think it has to do with it not being warmed up enough. I have a 75 Chevy with a vacuum choke. most of the time, my truck does the same thing. There is very little difference between a 302 and a 350. So, take my advice and look at keeping that choke active longer. Wait for it to warm up fully. I have a feeling it is that choke. The engine ain't warm enough to run right. It sounds like, you say when it is fully warmed up, it runs right. Also, look at your exhaust backup valve that helps warm up the engine. You may need to replace it too. Later.
