got a new water pump for my 300, (going through a full rebuild, dont want to put on too many old parts considering the age and amount of crap that was in the motor...)
noticed that the new pump ahas a non-threaded hole in the outer face of it, on the left side (when installed)
Just want to verify that this hole is supposed to be open, and have nothing connected to it, before I paint the pump and make it non-returnable...
I just replaced the water pump on my 4.9L, and I don't remember seeing the hole you decribe. But I could easily have overlooked it. Posting a picture of it would probably help someone give you a definitive answer.
