Water pump question

Water pump question
I just changed my water pump last saterday and I put about 300 miles on it. Now the thing is leaking like crazy. What did I do wrong? It was a brand new napa water pump. Was there something special i should have been looking out for? any help would be great. Thanks

I think It just had to much corrosion build up. I took it apart and I think I am just going to get some steel wool and clean up the block really well. Everything seemed to look good. It wasn't coming out the weep hole.
