lately my 93 f350 with the 460 starting running rich and getting pretty fummy outside. I ran the codes and the only one that came up was the throttle position sensor. I changed that, air by pass valve and plugs/wires with no luck still. I scaned it again and nothing will come up, but is it lacking on power and still running rich.
It will start with no problems and idle.
I did notice though that the rould canister with the exhaust hose that connects to it on the passenger side(behind the battery) doesnt blow air out of the side of it like my other trucks do.
Pull the vacuum hose off the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) and turn the key on and off with a cold engine. If any fuel comes out of the nipple on top of the FPR it is bad.
this may sound like a dumb question, but where is the fuel pressure regulator at on the truck?
Also, i have notice that the motor is pussing oil into my air cleaner box and out onto the fender quite alot now too. I cleaned out the pvc valve with air as it was alittle cruddy inside of it.
Oil in your air cleaner box means bad valve stem seals more than likely as the hose goes from your valve cover to your air box. Pull the hose off your valve cover and tell me if you see smoke. You shouldn't see anything but maybe a puff. If it is continuous, definitely a valve stem or bad rings causing some major blow by if you are seeing motor oil in your air cleaner box.
