yesterday, my 93 f35o/460 started sputtering while idiling and was popping in the exhaust like a missfire timing issue. and it also smells like it is running richand is very fumy in the exhaust.
the truck does have a new o2 sensor, throttle position sensor, egr sensor.
I went ahead and checked/changed the plugs and they all were slight black to tan in color. The coil was arcing at the boot so I switched both to new ones and it still runs the same.
I changed the fuel filter and the gas appears to be fine.
The distributer cap had blad soot inside of it so I replaced it too.
The truck starts up fine, but still smells like its running rich and will pop in the exhaust.
At the very least you should have the all clear code of 111/111. If the truck is running rich as you state start with the easy items first. Pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator, look for sign of fuel. Cycle the key on/off a few times to build pressure in the fuel rail, look at the regulator again to see if there are signs of fuel. Replace it if it does. Very common issue on these trucks, the diaphragm on the FPR gives out which allow fuel to be pulled into the intake via the vacuum hose.
i found that I had a bad set of new plug wires. But the truck still wants to pop and everything while driving. I've tried timing it and it will make it work or the same. Could the distributer maybe be bad?.also, the rich smell in the exhaust is gone now too and the air canister on the right side of the fender that blows air against the fender isnt doing anything at all. Could that be the cause?

I have no idea what you are talking about. I suspect you are referring to the "muffler" for the air intake to the secondary air injection pump. It does not "blow" it draws in air as required.

I'm pretty sure that there is both an air intake and exhaust (my truck has them) for the air pump, as there are certain conditions in which the air pump dumps the pumped air to atmosphere.
i pulled the valve covers off the truck today and notice the 2nd the passenger rear had a bent push rod. it was the only one that was bent in anyway.
I put another one in and the truck still wants to pop like a timing issue in the exhause under the truck.
Could the cam or lifter be messed up cauing that.

Either of those could cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Same for bent or stuck valve. I say it's time for a compression test.
