Recently I have had problems starting my truck. It would start but would not come up to idle. When I pressed on the accellerator, it would die.
I had a mechanic friend check it out and unplugged the sensor, turned the ignition switch, then plugged the connector to the sensor, and it started. I drove for several miles without any problems. Since then I have had to reset the sensor on several occasions. I took it to a dealer and had the computer connected. It showed several codes which included the Throttle Position Sensor. I was told that it would be two weeks before they could check it out, as they were that far behind.
I purchased a new sensor and installed it myself. The truck started three times, then I had to unplug the sensor and wait for sometime before it would start.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do?
