I Have converted to true duals, first without an x pipe and had 40 series flows on it, wanted a little more tone so i tried straight pipes. It sounded great, untill giving it any gas...... I didn't like it and it lost power, now i have an x pipe and super 10 series mufflers....back to quiet, but it picked up some lost ponies i think. Honestly, without huge amounts of horsepower, i would leave the exhaust single, throw a 10 series race on there, and call it a day..

Heard that unbeknownst to them, NYS Police had decided to monitor the STOP sign near my folk's house during the period when the peace was usually disturbed.

The noise scofflaw was apparently on schedule. My folks report that they heard the loud pickup approach & roar away from the STOP sign as usual, followed quickly by a State Police electronic siren. Cousin up the road saw the guy pulled over & found out he got cited for noise & also rolled thru STOP sign. The cousin, a former Marine, retired teacher & minor town official, said others had complained.

Wonder if police use a decibel meter & what the penalty will be? Also, can a vehicle pass a NYS inspection if you cut off stock exhaust/catalytic converters?

Here in FL there's no inspection.
