Has anybody heard Raven Exhaust on a 5.4 motor i can get a good deal on these mufflers, and will I get better sound out of a single muffler or running two mufflers for true dual exhaust. I think I am going to dump the exhaust before it exits the rear.
If those are the mufflers sold as the house brand for Midas, I didn't like the sound they produced too low, even for my conservative wants. Picked up a set of FlowTech Terminators, they sounded right about where I want to be. got to Flowtech's website, they have sound bits of their mufflers.
Yeah Ravens aren't very good. Those flowtech's sound pretty nice. and so do Flowmaster's, Magna-Flows and the Aero-Turbines even sound real nice. id just look around, find some sound bites.
Before you all say how bad the ravin' mufflers are, what series did you all have? The Z77 series are really low toned bit if you want to hear some, check out www.Goravin.com and have a listen to the mustang, it may be a 5.0 but it will still give you some idea. The stang should have the loudest ones (Z-33). I have a couple 3" in/dual 2.5"out Vortex V-baffle mufflers which are the same in pretty much every way to the Z55 with the same in/out combo. I run one on a 6.9 diesel and an just working on the pipe to put the other onto a '90 460 without the cat. The diesel is fairly quiet but still sounds nice. You will get Deep from a single system but almost a glasspack or magnaflow sound from duals if you look at the Z-33s or 55s
