OK all you gear heads, I need your opinions and experence. I am in the process of building up a 1970 F250 Camper Special,Just had the motor machine work and I'm starting to assemble this puppy.
I was considering adding roller rockers with the intent of letting the motor make horsepowe easier. I'm not looking to get more HP just thinking of a couple of mods that might make the MPG go up a bit,So If you know of this sort of modification let me hear from you.
Thanks in advance
In my running of them, you get reduced friction, and possibly a couple hp if you use the same ratio as stock. If I had the cash, I'd run em on everything I owned. Todays oils dont lube like the old stuff, so sled style rockers could wear out sooner than normal. Now you have an excuse to get some.
That's what I'm thinking. According to the rebuild book I have the ratio is 1.7 point something on wet lifters so the question I would ask you is. Do you know of anyplace that sell rollers with the stock ratio?
Thanks for the reply
