new bearings

I have a '06 F150 and this morning I tried to get a front end aligment and they said they couldn't do it because my bearings are bad on my one (front) tire. My question is do I have to replace the whole hub assembly or just the actual bearings? I've got multiple answers from different part stores/dealerships.

4 wheel drive no
2 wheel rotor and hub are all one unit you also need a new nut on 2 wheel drive as they are a one time use only and torque to 295 foot lbs.

Mine is a 4x4....can't understand why the dealership told me I would have to replace the whole hub assembly.....they quoted me a price of $304 for one.

Under warranty I had a noise isse in the driver front bearing. The delaer replaced the entire hub assembly. Not sure why but had no reason to question. $304 part price seems about right from dealer. Seems total cost for mine was pushing $600 with labor, but that's been a long while, so maybe incorrect. $450 seems more correct for that.
