Front Wheel Bearings?
I am doing the front brakes on my 01 PSD 4x4. I noticed a little bit of play on the hub. Also the rear seals or part of them have come off on the backsides of both the hubs. Hub spins freely and the bearings dont make any noise. Question is can I replace bearings only, or does the hub have to be replaced as a whole unit? Thank you all in advance!

I've not had to do anything to mine yet but if I remember right they have said that the hub has to be replaced. I do not remeber what they said it cost for the hub. You might try to do a search on this forum and find some of the past post.

You are correct the entire hub has to be replaced, and don't ask about rebuilding it, it can't be done, the list priice for the hub is something like $545 but I got mine for $275 at napa, just have them ring it up using a master bearing installer account, then pay for it that seems to be the cheapest way I could get it (if you know someone at the parts store it definatly helps)
