rear bumper
I have a 2007 fx4 extedend cab truck, I bought it used in 09 with 21000 miles. It know has 32000 miles. I noticed my rear bump has a bunch of rust bubbles on the bottem of the bumper and near the top underneath the step. My question is, is this a common problem. Have people just removed sanded and repainted? Or is it hard to get the plastic/rubber step off of the top of the bumper in which case would it be better to replace the whole bumper. Thinking I may prefer a chrome bumper anyhow?
The plastic can be removed with care but it will most likely be damaged.
Replacement for the plastic is pricey.
What is your time worth?
Six (?) Bolts to change the bumper out,
Or the hours involved in a good paint job?
