Hey all! So I finally got a little extra cash and was able to order my Auto Enginuity reader with the ford package. It works AMAZINGLY and I figured I'd share my story with ya'll! Diesel Power Products out of Spokane, WA are absolutely amazing! I ordered my reader monday afternoon on their ebay site for 359.00. Better yet, it came with free shipping and to my amazement that free shipping was free OVER NIGHT EXPRESS. I had my reader on my porch before lunch today (tuesday). Didnt deal with customer service any but if they do free over night I can imagine that they must have a good customer service team.
Report back when you actually fix something with it. I've been fighting with myself for two weeks deciding if to order or not. My 10 year old Auto Xray is just plain outdated and can no longer upgrade. Did you load it on a computer using Win 7 64 bit?

It automatically loaded on my windows 7. I've already read my 99 stroke and my wifes 02 ranger. Seems to read everything and tells me stuff that I needed to know! On my stroke I might have to replace my ICP. Popped a couple codes on it and some other stuff too. In the middle of a turbo swap at the moment so cant really do ALL The testing.
Well, just bought the basic ST-06 to see how it goes. Have three diff manufacturer's vehicles, all 2002 and below. Nice thing is being able to get the enhanced versions as needed. Oldest son keeps my old unit so I never have it when I need it anyway. Maybe I can get him to spring for the enhanced software for his F-250.
I've used it to verify IPR problems and then be able to change the IPR myself for tremendous savings. I alao learned another trick two weeks ago that didn't save me money at the time, but will in future events... my oldest son's F250 would not start after a low speed impact with the rear end of a BMW, and it turned out to be a loose connection on the PCM that we ended up letting the dealer figure out. The symptom I saw with AE was that it could not read my son's configuration file to even begin to help us troubleshoot his no start condition. NEXT time, we'll know to check the PCM connection before letting teh stealer get their hands on it.
To choose a vehicle? Not really sure what your asking? On my AE when I first plug it in and it connects to my truck it pops up with a screen asking me for basic information. Year, model, ect...
After having the program for a while now I absolutely love it! I've recalibrated my tire size on my 99 powerstroke and the speedo is nearly exact! I've also read a few of my buddies trucks as well. The acceleration and deceleration program is awesome as well. Already I've helped my buddy with a 06 6.0 powerstroke show that his variable geometry turbo is opening the waste gate far before than his programmer is saying. (Programmer says 28psi at 4000 rpm, AE is saying 24psi at 3000rpm) Anyway, still playing with all the features. Any more stories or questions would be good to hear!
Green, that's nice, but for the same price, we like to support FTE vendors who sell the product and also post help for the product here on the forum, or if you call them for support.
Since you only have 35 posts, you may not know that Clay at Riffraff is an amazing vendor and a great guy. Since he supports us as well as he does, we like to support him too.
Clay, thanks for the offer. In fact I was thinking about this earlier this week and will give you a call with a few other questions.
I also have questions regarding some updates since I have an old version #4 (I think). I also will be cleaning up the HP laptop to help it operate better.
Will touch base soon.
