Just trying to learn if it's the Goodyears or the Expy. When the roads are dry I can NOT for all the power the Expy has (5.4) get the rear tires to break loose and burn me some rubber ! My buddies Turdrango does this with ease. When the roads are moist, I can spin the tires all day long and even get a little fishtail action...with EASE ! My tires have a little wear on them and are about five years old and probablly due for some new ones soon. They are stock size 17's . Anyone else try to play like they are Ricky Bobby and have this issue ?
( all this is in two wheel drive )
Not sure the expy is the drag truck...Super heavy truck, limited slip and the gear size dnt help your desire to burn the rubber Ricky Bobby style. I dnt think I've ever tried to take off under full throttle to even see...for fear It might look pretty funny.
You can pull more weight than the Turdango if it helps your image any...lulz :P
I agree with EB02, my XP is something I have to drag things with, not to drag race. My Mustang GT is for the zoomy stuff.
But, tire tread and compounds do make a difference in wet/dry traction.
Look on your tire for the UTQG Ratings imprinted on it, they will help determine your tire's original traction grade in various conditions.
I was never really a fan of the Goodyear LT tires, and I've had a number of different versions on different trucks. Excellent wear but always seemed to turn hard as a rock as they aged. I've changed most before they were worn just because of that. I'd rather spend more money on Michelins and get less miles out of them but have the reassurance that they will stop.
Not really "racing" just trying to go for that "show off" move, you now "hey watch this!" My bro is always showing off and I just can't get my beastie to spin the tires. That does let me beat his **** off the line though. Don't get me wrong I love the traction, and I love this comment " You can pull more weight than the Turdango if it helps your image any...lulz :P "
I commute to work on a sport bike so I get my Ricky Bobby speed rush from that. Mostly I am just using my Expedition to tow my bass boat, or my four kids.
Also want to add that the Expy is pretty dang fast for a full size SUV !
im sorry to say but the 97 expo has only 230 hp, not much really and if its 4x4 it only adds more weight, 99 and up is a diffrent story, but i would like to say i also like going highspeed with my navi, so far beat a durango 2005 w/ 5.7 and a sububran with the 5.3 now i just need to find me an escalade w/ the 6.0 XD
Still eats every Fast & Furious prop car for breakfast. Another friend of mine has a Silverado and he's sunk some money into it on upgrades so he can "go fast" and I can keep up with him too with a big smile on my face.
Trying to launch our 6,000 pound bricks is a bit futile but what is fun is to sucker someone else to do a launch with a smokey burn out when you know a cop is near. Especially those guys in the Escapades.
