how to install a push button start

can anyone walk me through this? the ignition is messed up on my 1979 f 150 and i need to install a bush button start any help is greatly appreciated!

or you could get a used ignition switch from a Pick n Pull.

With or without a key? Review the wiring diagrams available in the stickys for this forum.

With a key - intercept the "Start" signal from the ignition switch and install an inline momentary switch.

Without a key - Much more involved. Basically, attach all the systems stemming to and from the ignition switch for Run to one on/off switch and then a separate momentary switch for the Start signal.

Autozone sells your ignition switch and tumbler seperatly and cheap, I bought a switch, and tumbler with keys for under 20 dollars and it look right (meaning it looks original)

didnt realize they were that cheap. thanks ill try and get a hold of one. of hand im curious though how hard this is. cause i had already picked up a momentary relay and wiring
