1996 F350 7.5L slow starting, stalls when cold, and slips out of gear.
I have a 1996 F350 with 7.5L and E40d tranny. Truck has 114000 miles. When first starting in the morning it starts slow. Cranks normal speed, but it seems like it takes a while for the ignition to kick. Fuel pressure is at around 36psi. I replaced one of the fuel pumps and the fuel filter, and no change. after it starts up, it seems to idle rough then stalls out. Then i can go to drive it and it will stall in the driveway. Throught the process you can still hear the fuel pump buzzing. Ive replaced the map sensor once before and it fixed the stalling out, but now its back, replaced it again and its still here. New Iac, new Tps, cleaned throttle body, cleaned out the fuel lines, fresh gas, recent cap and rotor, recent wires, and plugs. I have no idea what could make the truck do this. I let it sit for a few days and took it out on the highway and now it seems like the truck comes in and out of gear, no matter which gear its in. last winter i replaced the torque converter because the lock up solenoid was bad. any ideas? Thanks
