I am replacing the carb on my 76 F100 with a motorcraft 2150 and 360. I noticed after taking the old one off that the metal spacer under the carb was burned and eaten away- does anyone know where I can get a new one? I cant find any online, and I am concerned any I find at the junkyard will also be burned.
Pre-1977 spacers were made out of aluminum, resulting in the burnt-out spacer you see now. 1977 and later spacers are made out of cast iron, which is what you want to look for. Mike or NumberDummy should be able to look up the part number and see if any obsolete vendors or dealers have any on the shelf; otherwise eBay or junkyard (1977 and later) are your best bet. However, a pre-77 truck could have a retrofit cast iron spacer, so don't exclude those.
