I have a 2001 Fummins with a 12v. 1st generation. I have 4.10 gears with 37" tires and I get roughly 15 doing 60 mph. Although I have a 6" lift also. What gears do you have getting that good of mileage?
I have 3.73 gears and 35X12.50R18's. 15 sounds low. I get 16 beating the snot out of it and doing 75mph on my commute. If I drive it normal and keep it to 65-70, 18 all day long empty. Not sure what the O/D ratio is, but its a ZF6 from an 02 F350.
any time we all try to help each other out here any questions drop me a line or call
lop223 how is it going
All is good, still LOVING it. Getting the toyhauler dusted off and getting it ready for the season. Cant wait to see how she does over the passes with some weight. Last trip with the V10 over the scales at 19600 lbs @ 5-6mpg.
Hope yours is still making some good progress!
Been out of it lately, drop me a line if you have any ?'s. Got back, almost to normal, finally!

this is a great looking ride!! I have a question on your clutch. Did you use the dodge flywheel and have them make clutch plates with the ford spline count? what size clutch? I have a f-350 with the 5-speed. This is the only problem i've ran into so far. Just piecing it all together. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

give south bend a call they wont sell you any more that what you need I called them on my clutch master slave and he told me what I needed and said when you need a clutch come and talk to me
I didn't realize they offered a line of clutches for these conversions. I've used their clutches in everything from my plow truck to work truck to my pulling trucks and can't be more happier with them. Thanks for the help
Peter is THE man. He helped me a great deal, above and beyond what anyone could ask for. SB can hook you up with whatever you need. Mine is a dual disc setup(cuz I beat it ) but they do all levels. Seems to me like it was the Dodge flywheel with the Ford spline count.
Awesome!! I just need to figure out which trans i want to run (prob the nv4500) that came with the engine then ill be on my way. I am kinda partial to my 5 speed in the truck though.. Any recommendations? I know if i use the dodge trans i would have to swap the tailshaft and get the 4x4 adapter since i have a 2 wheel drive trans. If i'm to go this route do you any suggestions where to get the shaft and adapter? I don't wanna seem like i'm hijacking this thread just looking for pointers from someone that has done this.
this is what I did with mine I bought a 2wd and replaced main-shaft did the fifth gear fix bought the adapter housing for the transfer case all is good now
Both of mine needed to be changed. Don't remember exactly how much, but that was one of the easiest parts. Make a few measurements and have a driveline shop do the rest.
I cut/welded the front myself and got lucky in that my wrecked work truck's rear drive shaft ended up being the length I needed. (00 f250, extended cab/short bed, 7.3/auto/4wd. Rear shaft is about 2" longer than the Ex)
