My 99 Mazda ignition switch actuator has failed so i dropped the ignition switch from under the dash and am currently starting the truck directly from the switch. I haven't been able to find the part anywhere online nor have i been able to find any good details on how to replace it when i do.
Anyone have any good suggestions for me? This is driving me nuts and i don't want to pay the dealership an arm and a leg to fix it.

-your ignition switch is fine?
-is your key cylinder fine? Do you have a Transponder key?
-the problem is the thing that connects the two?
-did you try getting the part from a Ranger and see if that works
Here is a Ford parts link diagram. The Mazda part would be identical (uses same ford parts number). Part would be thru dealer, probably special order. On link enter model /year/. In parts select steering column/housing levers/ignition cylinder and open where it says view illustration to see parts breakdown. I tried to copy and paste exact page but it only opens the main page.
You have to enter your information as listed in the post and the option to view illustration will appear. Can get the same information from the dealers parts dept( ford or mazda), which is the only place you we be able to get the part anyway.
