Edge SC tuner and transmission shifting

Edge SC tuner and transmission shifting
As soon as I program in a non-standard performance setting like
Trailer Towing or Performance modes, my transmission shifts really hard.
I don't like that feeling or sound so I leave it in standard mode, other than when I am pulling my fifth wheel.
My U-joints are all solid. Just seems to hit hard on the shifts when I put my foot into it a little. If I drive like my father, you don't notice it at all, But push the truck a little and 'thunck' , hard shifts. I think that must be hard on the transmission.
Not exactly happy!
Is there something wrong with my truck? Or is that just the nature of these performance tuners?

Hate to say it but that Edge tuner is nothing more than a piece of garbage if it's anywhere near a 6.0l...excellent way to destroy the trans.
You need to ditch that and buy an SCT custom tunable programmer with custom Gearhead tunes...Your tanny will shift like a dream and with better power. Also buy a tow tune too, also needed are gauges. I will leave it at that and let others chime in.

Thanks,
I placed a call to Summit racing. Talked with them. They had no answers. They gave me a number to Edge that is always busy. I am going to go back and talk to the guys that I bought this from and see if I can still return it.
The way it shifts in any of these tuned modes is just frustrating to me.
Time to get rid of it.
Thanks again.

I have found the 'custom programming' in the Edge CS tuner and have found that I can de-tune the shift speed and the shift firmness.
Going to play with that a bit before I decide to toss it, but it does not shift anywhere nears as hard anymore after adjusting that. Still trying to get more info out of Edge with respect to custom settings.
Looking a bit better anyways.

Be careful with it. The smoother the shifts, the more the tranny is slipping. Might make you feel more comfortable, but not exactly good for longevity.
I'm not really a fan of Edge products in general, wether they are the shift on the fly or the Evolution(although this is the lesser of two evils, but still evil).
You probably don't want to toss it because of the money that you have in it. While I can understand that sentiment, it raises the potential of costing you more in the long run then quiting now. Choice is yours, but just food for thought.
