i as we all know hate asian cars , due to the lopsided trade agreements involved and some other reasons , but it's becoming a way of life it seems .... you buy an american built vehicle so you think { and i'm not talking the asian junk built stateside ! } and it turns out the dain thing is powered by or has tech or something from overseas . i think despite looking kinda sorta , for a NEW beater i'll stick to my old stuff as at least i know mine were truly built here . the 53 i think in louisville ? the 52 i'm not sure , and my bird in ohio . i dont recall hearing either of my flatheads chanting / puttering around sounding like a asian car , and they don't burn rice !!!!!!! my wife bought an uplander and i'd swear that 3.9 in it looks strangely like a nissan or honda turd ............................. oh bye the way the tech involved in all new vehicles and the japanese in particular is impressive but unless i become extremely desperate for wheels i'll walk first or push my old fords !!!!!!!!!!!!!! no thanks ford i geuss your being added to the ever growing list of peeps i won't deal with .... i'll support the used and abused market from now until forever ends .................

Well guys....I just have THIS to say.......
Ford Motor Company, is the ONLY company that still MAKES the parts, and ASSEMBLES the autos in the US, or Canada...Either/Or....Fine by me...
ANd if they wanna band together with the japs, figure out how to give the new trucks 19-20mpg city, and 28-30mpg highway....I ain't gonna cry...
As long as, after figuring out said technology, they crew the japs over in retribution for the economy screwovers they've done to us, and generally just rip them off, then sell it as a American truck......
I mean, US/Jap, either/Or....Who cares who CAME UP with the idea, as long as Ford keeps the trucks made and assembled in the good ole U.S.A....

that's just the point . they are using parts / tech/ whatever from the ones who are / have screwed us over on things . why buy it if they do ? then part of the money is in some way going back to them , the japanese . i mean criminy you gotta look so hard to find anything truly made here anymore , and ford was the last bastion it seems for the automotive side . if the japanese and other asian countries would open up the doors and allow us to sell our goods without the bull , and they're peeps do want our stuff look at the number of old cars , trucks , bikes etc. that find their way over there , then i would be a little more understanding maybe . it hasn't and won't happen it seems so stuff 'em . we have the people and intelligence here too do the same someone here just needs to let our people do it instead of going to already available as they're to damn lazy/cheap to want to let our people do it . i know and can accept that we are moving towards a global economy from all appearances but c'mon let's show some pride in ourselves and our abilities before our companies become like so many others and go belly up . i'm sorry but between the ugly styling of 99% of the new cars , wrong wheel drive , and you don't know what your buying i find it hard to convince myself to buy . { oh and i do not feel any animosity towards european vehicles, as a matter of fact i like a good many of them and some are on my list of what i might have bought } as we have a stake in their markets as ford and gm do sell there unprohibited . by the way hybrid ? keep 'em ! if we all accept things as the way things are going well you all will be driving the same pea green plug in turds and wearing plaid leisure suits so no one looks different and all are one generic society . i'll keep puttering around in real cars and trucks to remind you all of what thing s were or could be and in general just be DIFFERENT .

To ease you mind a bit that 3.9 is a version of a chevy 2.8 with variable cam timing that debuted in the 1980 X bodies, complete with good old pushrods and 2 valves per cyl.
