I've been checking them out online for the past few days, I think they are gorgeous, they look absolutely great. To say the truth I'd buy one before one of the new mustangs, but thats just me. If I had the money I'd buy both. Im not much of a ford car fan, but a hardcore ford truck fan. Even though the price tag is a little steep, I think its worth it, they have good power and a great look. Too bad the srt-8 version is in the 38,000 dollar range, but the semi hemi would do. I think their just under 30,000. Just gotta wait till 2008 when their supposed to come out, if they come out.
I'm not a Chrysler fan by any means, but if they offer a Challenger with a V-6 and stick shift, I'd sure be interested. I don't really care for a V-8, a six is more than enough for me and I really don't want to pay the insurance bill that Hemi will bring.
I'm in serious like with it too. My first two cars were 60's Mopar muscle cars so I get the warm fuzzies for the new Challenger. I'll be going to the 2006 Chicago auto show so I should be able to see it there soon. I was planning to buy a new Miata in a couple of years but this car may change my mind.
I want to wait for the 500hp version and wait for the rush to die down. I hate paying above sticker because the car is special. Jusat look at all the bozos who bought PT Cruisers or VW Bugs when they first came out.
Biggest problem for me with Chryslers is that for some odd reason they build them with the windshield too low to the point where I cannot see street signs and traffic lights without slouching down low in the seat. I have not been able to take a test drive in the PT, Crossfire or 300C for this reason, weird. Hope the Challenger will be different, but probably not since it is the same platform as the 300C and Magnums I have read.
I am nervous about Chrysler reliability but I always wanted a Challenger with a hemi.
If Chrysler dont shoot themselves in the foot as they are prone to do, by sticking some POS transmission behind the 425 horse hemi or something else like ball joints that fall out of the steering, this will be a real contender.
Remember the GT500 has to have a blower to make that kind of horses. If you slapped a blower on the 6.1 hemi you would have a rocketship!
This from someone who has never owned a Dodge in his life.
Wow, not one "I hate it, it's Mopar crap" post. I thought at least ONE of us would have a negative, anti-Dodge comment!
Credit must be given where credit is due: that car is gorgeous. Nice work, Dodge.
i might have said something negative about it, IF dodge had screwed up the design. they did an excellent job styling the car, and it is a car that is needed, and important for the american auto industry. as was stated, it is GM's turn now. they need a homerun of their own now. and it needs to come soon.
I heard/saw some camero concept car pictures, it looks pretty much like the challenger. Funky lookin grill to. as much as i am a ford truck man....i would by a dodge car over a ford car any day. i don't trust ford cars. their trucks are great! not there cars...lol. i think i would almost have to buy the V8, just to have my first V8. I'm only 17, and it may be the last car i ever have. but i could go that way...
