Just picked up my new truck (98) and it doesn't have the bumper foglights like I thought it did. However, the headlight switch still pulls out for turning them on. My question is, how difficult would it be to install the lights? Would I also have to replace the dash switch....
The wiring is probably all there. You can install the factory lights and the connectors should be behind the bumper for them. You'll need the headlight switch for foglights and that should just plug in too.
'97 -'98 F150's will have the same bumper as a '97-'98 Expy. They should fit, as long as they are the bumper mounted ones from Ford. If they are aftermarket, they may mean that you have to mount them elsewhere on the bumper. You might want to clarify this with the seller/ manufacturer. The differences in the newer '99 and up bumpers are only cosmetic from what I've seen. F150 and Expy bumpers should be the same all the way until '02. So if you find ones that fit F150 Expedition and mount into the factory openings on the bumper, they should fit with no problems. The factory harness should also be installed, just tied up in the frame.
Hey thanks for the info. The only reason I was concerned is that the bumper has a curved spot for the fog light, and here it the link to the right one I have found. I'm assuming then that the rest of the light just sits behind the bumper? And thanks for the wiring info guys, I was just about to buy the wiring harness! Now I just have to find a new headlight switch
