Hi,
I have an F150 5.4L '98, and had an Edge Evolution that crashed leaving the car in level 3.
Now i contacted Edge and they replaced the Evolution for free wich is great.
But the problem is that it will not work because there is no original.
So i went to a Ford garage to ask if they could reprogram it, but they say it can't be done.
What can i do

By original, I assume you mean the original/stock tune.

Not sure why the dealer can't reflash the PCM. Did they give you any details?

You might have to contact Edge again. I read of a similar issue and Edge had the owner send the PCM to them to re-flash.

 

Unless something is going on that they didn't tell you or wasn't put in this post, they should be able to flash over that Edge program.

 

I think the main problem is that i live in Belgium, and they are not used to work on US cars.
Today i made an appointment with another Ford garage, and they said that they are willing to try it out, have to leave the truck there for at least a day.
Think this is going to cost me some money.....
Think it's cheaper to get me another pcm

If your new dealer can't flash the PCM I'm pretty sure Edge can, but I think you'll have to remove it and send to to Edge along with your Evo (I'd recommend upgrading to a CS or CTS anyway).

 

Around here just them hooking up the laptop to a computer to get codes read costs $100 a pop. I can't remember what a flash costs. If they aren't used to working on american cars/trucks and they flash your vehicle, I hope that they don't mess up the flash. Has been known to happen with service departments here.
