Try accelerating a little more slowly, it'll save $ on tires also. Sorry had to do it.

Not in the front... Its not how hard i accelerate it just does it when i put any pressure on it. it squeals louder in first and second then quiets down at a low rpm.. its weird it comes and goes.. but its been doing its alot lately. i feel like something is looss im gonna have to get another hand this weekend and FIND IT! btw just drove 10 miles and it didnt make it.. but it did all day today

Same thought as redford Carrier bearing. I had one that would squeal when under acceleration and had a real hard time tracking it down until it let go completely. I thought that I was going to loose the drive shaft before I could get her stopped.

That takes the rear part of the drivetrain out of the equation. Have you ever replaced the idler pulley or belt tensioner? I've had those go on my 2000, started out as an intermittant squeal but then became worse over time... They're pretty inexpensive to replace if you go that route (might as well do the belt too if you end up replacing).

What was ever determined to be the cause of the noise? Mine just started doing this. It's also vibrating at 55 and above. I have had the tires balanced twice. I think it is drive shaft or brakes. Ideas?

Is that something you did yourself? Do you need a press? I just crawled under mine, and it has some slop in the rear and looks like even a piece has sheared. How much did it set you back if I may ask?

I did the job myself. The U joints cost about $12 a peice. I didn't use a press I had a ball joint C clamp I used and had no problem at all.
