Hello everyone, I recently bought a DP tuner and the switcher gauge and installed it today. I turn the key on and the gauge has no power. I pulled the pcm twice and cleaned the contacts for the chip and still nothing the truck just cranks and wont start. I have installed a few of these tuners on other trucks with no problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot. I just pulled the chip out and the truck started right up. I double checked twice and it not in the no start position. It must be a bad chip because the contacts are clean. Is it alright to run my truck with out the chip since I have custom tuning for my injectors?
It shouldn't,you just won't get all the performance out of it I would believe. Looks like your truck is the same as mine, except I have FF stage
II's. Runs strong huh? Love it
Cool thanks for the reply. I dont know how well it runs yet because they are brand new injectors. I am not sure what new single shots sound like but its loud and it runs smooth sometimes and rough like it has a miss or a big cam in it other times. Must be air in the lines or might need the tuning to find out. I just installed Clays FRx, HPx and a terminator T-500 HPOP so I might need to just drive it to work out the air. I wish the tuner worked. I will have to call Jody tomorrow.
Mine has a rough idle like a big cam too. I love it. Put my T-500 in yesterday and a short test drive let me know it helped. Nice second gear scratch,n pulled hard through the gears. Needs tuned though. Oh yeah, liking the last name. Same as mine Tyler Murphy.
Good to know about the idle. It smooths right out when you are going done the road. I had a really weak HPOP and my truck could barley pull it self around. Now it moves really well. Going to go hook my truck up to the AE and see how things are working. Its good to meet a fellow Murphy! Thanks again for the replies.
