Trying to remove a 390 from a 73 1 ton w 4sp(np435) and I can't get it. I took the bolts loose from tranny to bellhousing, disc the clutch arm and everything in engine bay is disconnected. I have seperation at the tranny of less than an inch. Then I removed the starter and all the bellhousing bolts and pried it apart off the alignment pins with about an inch of seperation. Now i have a gap between eng-bellh and bell-tranny but it still won't come free. Is it the throwout bearing, clutch? Gonna unbolt the press. plate tomorrow. Rain and frustration stopped me yesterday

Reason: info
Yes and have been jacking up and down a little along with raising and lowering the engine. Gonnna go out in a few and take the pressure plate bolts out and see what happens.
When I took the last bolt out of the pressure plate it kind of moved and when I lifted the engine a little it swung free with no prying. The pilot bearing had at least two ***** missing
