1990 f-250 7.3 idi 2x4 long wheel base extended cab. My truck seems to set level but the front tires lean inward. The bearings are fine and everything seems to be in order under the front end. I think the front springs may be a little tired, though I am not sure. Some kind of input would be nice because its been aggravating me since I bought it. Drives great though.
I will get a pic up as soon as i can. I'm on campus now. But the top of the tires lean inward. Kinda like this /---\ with the slashes being the tires. and the dashes being the bottom line of the truck.
bubba you have a problem it is your torsion bar and maybe your ball joints i just got mine replaced and alligned cost me about 750 bucks at schilling tire co in muenster tx
Well at least I know im not the only one:-) Is there a way to set the springs up without getting new ones? And does it affect your tire wear?
My tires still seem to wear normally. I would think you could either buy or fabricate some sort of spacer to go under the spring seat to raise it up some.

Uhhh... there is no torsion bar on an early 90s F250, but I guess if the ball joints are completely worn out they could affect the way the tire sits. Mine have no play in them though.
I haven't seen any uneven tire wear yet either. Kinda puzzling? I will probably look into making some spacers for it. Sounds like a good cheap fix. My ball joints aren't worn out. Everything is rigid.
Camber angles change alot on these trucks, usually backing up makes 'em go like this /---\
Then when you drive forward, they return straight |---|
I work on Fords alot, and I actually see as much 2wd Fords, company vans/trucks running around like this /---\ than this |---| and what I learned by working on them, is the camber adjuster on the top ball joints, with the bumps/vibration, can turn overtime and changes camber.
Very very very rare to see old older King Pin twin I-Beam setup running around like this /---\
Even my motorhome, 1987, 160k miles, original springs, carrying alot of weight, and the front sure bounces up and down alot, and I had it aligned earlier this year cause the factory tie rods were done, and passenger side camber is 0.1* and driver side is a perfect 0.0*, it is a King Pin front end.
After backing into a parking spot they seem much worse than before. But the are always tilted in at the top. Do you have any tips to remedy the problem? Would be appreciated.
His is a 1990. Wouldnt he have the Dana 60 front axle? I know my buddy's 95 F-150 did the /---\ after he went into a ditch and it was his axle itself that wore down over time, granted he had the Dana 50 TTB.
