Your turbo may ba beyond rebuilding if the comp wheel has made contact with the housing. Did you ever consider putting your ats housing on a van turbo? Another possibility. I was tied when deciding what to do about a turbo till the day I found it was wore out to the point it wasn't rebuildable. Next I started looking at buying a van turbo. Was about to pull the trigger till the wife asked, are you going to buy this turbo then want another one down the road? If so you might as well but the one you want. That's when I decided on the 38r. The van turbo would of worked for me but would of cost me about 800 bucks to get it like I want. With the sale clay was running and the fact it was in stock that's what I decided was the best choice after all.
On a side note though, if I had to do it over again with buying up pipes turbo boots plenum inserts and so on, I think I would go with a bigger turbo. You live and learn.

I didn't even consider the van turbo yet.-Option # 3 I guess.
I know a guy who had a van turbo with the 1.5(bigger) housing on it and he complained about lag. I guess I could put my 1.0 on to help with that.
And your right-if the stock housing is gouged too bad, then rebuilding it is not gonna happen.

38R keeps whispering in my ear.
Ron, you want the 38r........ (whisper),, 38r,,38r. Seriously I love the combo of stage 1's and the 38r, more air when towing, fast spool, seems to work well.
