Looking through my buddies barn and found this. He said it was for a Ford, but unsure what. I could not find any casting numbers on it and its stamped steel.

I agree post in the older forums. I am pretty sure no Y block or more modern engine ever had a stamped bell housing. The number of bolts also looks large. Good Luck.
Stamped steel bell housing for a LATE ('51-'53) flathead....used in cars to hook up the 3 spd OD trans. It has SOME value.....don't scrap it.
It is not what I call a hogshead.
It's one of those old parts that: because they are usually never damaged in a crash, never really wear out with use, very heavy, not likely to rust away, and too new to have been melted down in WWII scrap drives, their value is limited.
