So I'm in the process of putting together a bunch of electrical upgrades for the truck, and I'm kinda stumped. I'm looking for a nice clean relay socket box that will hold at least 5-6 standard 5 pole generic Bosch type relays for things like High and Low headlights, electric fuel pump, and 2 speed (thus 2 relay) electric fan. I'm thinking 30-60amps per relay, depending. I pulled a fuse box out of a car in the junkyard but it does not have enough relay sockets with the terminals intact. I know "Painless" has a 4 relay gang with wiring, but its like $200. I'm sorry, but that's highway robbery. I'd prefer not to screw 5-6 random mismatched relays to my inner fender under the hood.
So, has anyone seen anything like this out there? Links would be awesome. Thanks!
we're working on a lot of the same projects, i think...
i'm still in the planning stages, though.
i don't know of a 4 or 6-gang relay bank. BUT- if you could get by with multiple smaller banks...
the junkyard i frequent is full of Aerostars. on the driver's side of the firewall is a nice neat little 2-gang relay box. i think its for the electric fan, but unsure. one relay is normal size, the other is a big 70-amp unit.
this is what i'll use when if/when i put the dual-speed fans in. could also be used for other things.
This what I did, and the fuse box was only $45
