No high beams

No high beams
I added a hitch and 7 pin trailer plug recently, and just noticed that i no longer have high beams. The low beams work fine, but when kicking on the brights the headlights just shut off. After doing a search it seems the dimmer switch goes out all the time, but would it just be a coincidence that it went out at the exact time I did some other wiring?
Or could I have done something else to cause it to have no brights?

Sounds like dimmer switch and yes coincidences can happen. I just recently had an old tape player in one of my old cars jam up and kept on trying to eject killing the battery over night i thought. Ended up the battery had just lived it's life time and went dead. It was just a coincidence they both happened at the same time. It was good it happened in my drive way than out in the middle of no where .
