Headlights not working

Headlights not working
I originally had no headlights, so I replaced the dimmer switch, now i press the switch the lights come on, I press it again and they turn off. I cannot figure out why I can't get both hi's and lo's to work?????

This might be a little obvious, but maybe the low beams have burnt out so all you are seeing is the high beams turning on/off? Maybe replace both lamps and see what happens?

I ran hard wires off the battery to test the lamps and both hi's and lo's checked out fine. I also ran the ground straight to the battery to check for proper grounding and nothing???

Try another dimmer switch.
