The driver's side window on my 78 F-150 will no longer crank up or down. I pulled the door panel off and can see that the teeth on the crank are no longer engaging the teeth on the regulator. I don't believe the teeth are stripped because the everything was working fine a day ago. Is there anyway to adjust the teeth so they mesh or am I better off just getting another regulator? Thanks in advance
I just went through this today, I replaced it and fixed the problem, but needed to remove the regulator to assess the problem first. I did not notice any kind of adjustment, it seems to be a part that you throw away and replace.
I didn't need to drill mine out, I think it was just 3 bolts and then sliding it off of the track that is connected to the window. I originally replaced it with an aftermarket but that was junk and couldn't even hold the window up. I found a NOS on ebay and it has worked well ever since.
