Poltergeist or GEM?

Opened door on '98 F150 SuperCab XLT last night & interior lights failed to come on for the 1st time in its 30,000 miles.

Grabbed LED Maglite in door pocket to grope around for what I was after.

When I closed the door FORD gremlins turned the interior lights on!

Is it a poltergeist phenomenon or the GEM?

The GEM supplies ground to the relays that control the interior lights. It is located on the back of the CJB which is the fuse panel under the left side of the dash.
