Courtesy lights mod.
I have an 02 xlt sc and I'm wondering if the lariat models have courtesy lights under the dash. If they do the wiring should be there on the xlt, so maybe just adding the light on each side would work??? I did this on a jeep liberty sport. It worked out great, extra interior lights. Anyone have a lariat?

There are no courtesy lamps under the dash on a Lariat. If Ford had offered them I am sure that my KR would have been equipped with them and I have none under the dash. There are courtesy lamps in the door and the dome light and that is it.
If you add your own under dash lights, then I expect that you would want them to be controlled by the dash switch that turns the dome light on or to come on when the door is open.
Tap into the Black/Light Blue wire in connector 211. This is 16 pin connector located in the right hand footwell. Behind the parking brake assembly and the kick panel. Good luck and let us know how it worked out for you.
