Sensor identification
I need help folks! I'm stuck at work (40 miles from home) and need to diagnose this before I start having someone haul my butt all over half the State.
Yesterday I noticed a 2 wire plug that was not plugged in so of course I plug it back in. Truck runs fine for 40 miles and after I get to work it sat for about a hour. I went out to move it to a different part of the lot and it died. Then noticed smoke from under hood. Pop hood and this 2 wire plug is smoking like crazy.
The wires plug in to a sensor(?) that screws into the top of the block right behind the thermostat housing. Looks about the same size as a spark plug. This is a 1987 F250 6.9L
I know this is probably more infor than anybody wants but wanted to give as much as I could to help figure out what it is.
Does anyone know of a place on line I can see pictures of this motor with a parts list or anything like that?
