Great lookin' truck! I have the same rig minus the 4x4 and with 3.55s. Had it about 4 months now and just did the 2nd oild change at 10k. I drive 100 miles daily and after 4 or 5k the oil starts getting dirty.

PLEASE level it?! I did a 2.5" level on my front end... love it.

Thanks for the input Brandon but I just can't bring myself to do that. I'm not sure if I ever intend to get larger tires and these are small as 4x4 tires go.

And, IMHO, the bed sits the way it does so the truck doesn't sag so bad when loaded. Leveling the truck would mean that I would be looking at the stars everytime I pile a load on her.

Tim, did you ever feel that the tubular side steps were too close to the truck? I have had a friend tell me I didn't want the tubulars on my new XLT because they were too close and hard to use, so I started the black platform thread
Thanks

Def a nice truck.

So aside from hemming and hawing, they didn't have an issue changing the oil that "early"? I agree on getting the factory oil out after a few thousand miles, so I'm wondering if I should do it myself or try to convince the dealer to do it in a few months.

And as the owner of many turbo vehicles...the soot is common due to the A/F enrichment with on/off boost cycles.

The midnight Blue was my next choice.

These side steps are a little awkward but I've grown accustomed to them.

Okay, now I know what wax I'm gonna buy for my pre-winter waxing.

Our '01 Lightning used to get alot of soot in the tailpipe also. Short of being a pain to clean, there is no worries about it.

When we test drove the Platinum F150, and the Lariat, we did notice the difference in the side steps compared to our F250. However, they seem to do their job, and make ingress and egress easier, so why complain. Own an F250 with the factory 20's for a while................. you know, where you have to use that nice handle on the A-pillar, just to get in, and you will truly appreciate how easy it is to get in and out of a F150.

BTW, we would own an EB F150 CC Platinum or Lariat plus, if nav was available right now. As my truck is my daily driver, the fuel economy benefits would be well worth the slight loss in capability. After all, we only tow a 5000lb TT (tent trailer, the largest one made), and a car trailer now and then. So, the F150 would easily do anything we would need it to.
