OK, So I've finally got my engine back together. Trying to get started. Had her torn down to the block. Had heads rebuilt. Installed new stage one injectors. T500 HPOP.... I fill the HPOP reservoir, crank engine, it tries to start, but just won't take off... remove fill plug in HPOP reservoir... Oil level low... I guess this means the HPOP is working, but the oil pump is not refilling reservoir?
I don't think you'll see the gauge move til it starts. If you've filled it 4 times already, seems like your lpop isn't feeding the hpop for some reason like you mentioned. Gonna have to get some of the guys that have actually been inside these motors on to help you out more. And I'd much rather you sent that truck my way since I answered you first!
It will drain it. Took a little bit to get mine going after the front cover replacement. Remember the hp oil system has to fill as well as the front cover, oil galleries, cooler and bleed out the air. Just keep refilling until it starts oil psi will move and bounce. That means that your getting some pressure and air.
you wont see the gauge move on the dash. Thats the pressure the LPOP is pushing to the resivior. So until the pressure is built there, you wont see it.
No oil in the rails = pretends it wants to run.
Just keep at it till you work the air out. its a bugger to get em started after pulling injectors.
