Oh..oh! I'd help you cut wood if you were in the Tahoe area. I've got a small chainsaw!

Goodmorning guys.

Hope your Wednesday is going great!
I really gotta figure out how to slow some of these drivers on my street down. Granted I live in a Industrial area, but really? Everyone pretty much does 35mph in a 25mph, but I'm talking about the idiots in their lil' Honda racers, semi trucks, & especially the ones on their ninja motorcycles doing about 60-70mph! I swear these people think this is a 1/4 mile drag strip!
I tried to take a picture of the Honda racer yesterday, but he saw what I was going to do & took off from the stop sign (sideways I might add) & sped past before I could focus the camera on him. The Ninja guy (riding in shorts)...well, I don't expect to get a picture of him until he crashes, so I don't know what to do there other than motion for him to slow down. Hmm... maybe if I park Olfthfl outside the fence next to the street & open the door all of the sudden?! I mean this is ridiculous! My kids can't even play outside at the bus stop before or after business hours anymore.
Where's the cops when you need them? On shift-change that's where! These guys know they can get away w/ it too because by the time the cops get here, they're already at work. The cops need to witness it for themselves to be able to do anything about it. GRR!!!

Find a crown vic in the junkyard, paint it black and white, and park it on the street. Find a mannequin and put a uniform on it. bingo, problem solved.

Or, maybe the local cops will let you borrow one of their spike strips to throw in the road when these idiots show up.

True, however if they'd be here to nab the honda racer & the ninja motorcyclist, they'd go to jail for reckless driving (among other things) & have their vehicles impounded. 2 cars racing side by side (in on coming traffic) & the ninja guy passing in on coming traffic at 70+ MPH & not even slowing down. It's going to take the death of someone to get action unfortunately!

Unfortunately, many times I have found this to be true.

A cable stretched across the street and sitting on the ground. One end anchored to a telephone pole at about knee height and the other end tied to the bumper of olfthfl. When you hear the shrill of a rice rocket coming down the road, just pull olfthfl forward a few feet until the cable is nice and tight. Bike stops when the front tire catches the cable, rider continues at 60-70 mph.

Actually, don't do that. I just had a visual and it warn't purdy. Besides, that would be bad karma... Especially for someone who likes to ride on the back of a bike.

How about taking a child sized mannequin and strapping it into the seat of a tricycle with a small diameter rope tied to the front of it, then pull it across the road just ahead of the rocket? I wonder how he'd react to that one?

I'm thinkin' just have the camera at the ready, when you hear 'em coming step out with the camera up and aimed in their direction, be obvious about it so they're sure to see you...doesn't really matter if you get the pic or not, as long as they think you did...they won't know what your intentions with the pic are, but they know they're doing something they shouldn't and after a few times they might start to slow down, at least when they're around your place. And eventually you may actually get a pic or two, especially of the license plate. That info to the cops along a with a pic and some insistence on your part may at least get them a warning phone call from the cops.

If none of that works, maybe we should have the FTE GTG at your place, a bunch of irate truck owners might get their attention!
