Howdy y'all! Still recovering from the weekend...it was a great time, but a lot of walking around and playing in the heat. I don't do so well with heat...gotta move back to the mountains. The older I get, the less heat tolerance I have.
I like the idea of Hollister, Joe. It was actually going to be my suggestion as I'm very familiar with it. There are several campgrounds there, some are down in the motorcycle area known as the Lower Ranch and are easily accessible with two-wheel drive, while Sycamore Camp and the Obstacle Course campground are in the 4x4 Upper Ranch area. I believe you can get to both of those campgrounds with two-wheel drive, though be prepared for some dirt roads. I'll be there in October for my Land Rover club's annual get-together and will check it out...never paid attention as I'm always there with the Rover and it's never been a consideration.
Both campgrounds have flush toilets, Sycamore camp also has showers as does Walnut campground in the Lower Ranch area. Camping is $10 per night per vehicle.
Alternatively, there is a group campground called Area 5 right off the main road for easy access which can be rented fairly reasonable if we have enough people to make it worth the while. I can check on price and availability once we nail down a date.
We get to help our neighbors pack/move to thier new house this weekend.
I'm thinking an epideral is sounding pretty good about now! Atleast there's free beer & food.
Karl, you sound like Walmart. Woa there brutha, lets slow down a little OK? I aint in no hurry. "'Tis The Season" is coming on a little too fast for me.
I spent the weekend helping my neighbors move. I'm so tired! It would've gone much smoother if they had everything packed & ready to go, but they waited until the last minute & was packing boxes as we loaded the trucks. GRR!!! Made for a really long weekend, but atleast the big stuff is moved. Now they can move all the little stuff thier cars.
Doesn't it feel like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner??
LOL!...although I agree with Tim; Yes, it does feel that way.
On the plus side to that, atleast this year will finally be over & income tax money will follow.
