i barrowed a tester, tested it tonight on a warm motor my results were code p1273-cylinder 3 (D) - high to low side open, i did sest them more then once
what exacley does this mean?
over the weekend i did find a wire messed up, passenger side 3rd wire from the from (injector wire right?cuz its gp-gp-inj-inj?) its like a peach color wire located outside the vaulve cover but were the harness plugs into it for the inside harness under vaulve cover
Did you clear the codes before the test? This could have been an existing code that is displayed when the test was performed. Buzz sounds good, the 1273 can be caused by solenoid or wiring.

well its not my tool so i didnt wanna clear anything cuz of what it might clear something he needed but i think im gonna try it all again this weekend if he is in town, and wouldnt that turn check engin light on? ya the buss test sounded good to me too u think it could be that wire on that harness but does it go to cyl 3 i know on my half ton the cyl's were counted diffrent it was one side was 1-4 and other 5-8 r the 7.3's like that id sent a pic of the wire on here but cant on my phone only by txt and email
Passenger side 1,3,5,7 Front to Back
Driver side 2,4,6,8 Front to Back
When you perform the Buzz test it also pulls codes stored in the IDM which will show up as P1316 during "Normal" Code pulling or checking for Continuous Memory codes.
As far as showing a SES light, yes when the High to Low happens the SES should flash then go away if the error goes away. I'm betting that the wire you found having an issue is what caused the P1273, if it's fixed and you clear the codes, it will not display the next test you perform.
When you clear codes it is clearing the PCM nothing on the tool. So you'd be safe to clear them.
I am not the best on this topic but I sent u the troubleshooting chart for this issue.
I think the answer is that the idm computer uses a hi/lo multiplex signal and expects a response at certain intervals. If it does not get that response, then it codes. Usually that item not responding is inoperative. So in you case, it could be the wiring or it could be the injector solenoid crapped out on u.
Again, though, I would imagine someone here is a lot more familiar with this will be up in a few hours and give u a better answer. If u start with that chart and follow it through, you should be able to get where u need to be.
I thought the long pause towards the end was a dead injector- I did not count. DOH
What u are calling peach may have originally been orange. That is the shared high side wire for all of the odd number injectors. The low side of #3 is brwn/yellow.
There is also a tan wire on that side that goes to the low side of #1

BTW before I changed a set of injectors on a buddy's truck he was getting a P1275 but only before the oil was up to temp, never noticeable in driving but before the temp oil temp was up to 150 degrees it would occasionally flash the SES briefly, after the oil was up to temp there would not be a high to low code.
