Get all the accesories from the doner. I used the PS pump, alternator bracket (minor mods to run a GM single wire alternator) and all the pullies from the Mercury that gave up it's 460 that I swapped into my '79. Most any hydraulic shop can make you the hoses you will need for PS. I had mine made with 6+/- inches of hard line at the end, e.g., a hydraulic hose with the hard line swedged to one end, and then bent the hard line myself to fit, much like you would bend brake line. Looked factory when it was done.

Sounds like that is the plan then... there are several places here that would build me hydraulic lines too. Hopefully I end up with a 79 F250 steering box to swap in as well, so I only build lines once.
I believe all 78 (or 77 1/2) to 79 F250/350 4x4 PS boxes are the same. I know my single wheel F350 was the same as a F250, just had a bigger drag link attached to the steering arm. I am sure you can find some threads on here of others who have done that same PS box swap.

So Ive heard.... I have talked to some guys that have done the swap before, but I didnt know the lines were the same, thats pretty helpful. Hopefully I will do this swap soon....
