Its a 2008 F350 with 148,400 miles. Tuned with Spartan and driven daily on the 150 or 175 tune.
Here's the codes:
P0128 Coolant Temp below Tstat
P0563 System Voltage High
P0625 Generator field terminal low voltage
P1000 System readiness test not complete
U0155 Lost communication w/ instrument panel cluster control module
Recently replaced both batteries and also cleaned the terminals thinking corrosion
Now i did clean the air filter while i had the box out looking at the pcm connectors. I drove it about 6 miles (back to work) without filter installed. This is when the code popped up and now it stays on
I have a friend that owns a Dodge dealership w/ two diesel mechanics on duty. Thoughts on letting them look at it vs. ford. The only issue with local Ford places is premium price for diagnostics ($180). Then premium price for service. and nothing to drive.
I did all that and now its going nuts, wait a minute- thats me thats going nuts. Lost turbo earlier, then it came back, then lost all instruments on dash- that was great while driving at highway speeds. Ugh, I give up, its going somewhere tomorrow.
....just wondering though....the belt has squealed a little on startup- wonder if a slipping belt could be the root of the problem?
Any chance you recently swapped tunes and didn't follow the on-screen directions to a tee?
Also, if you did swap tunes, is the tune you are running compatibable with your DPF situation; i.e. no DPF tune with DPF removed or DPF installed tune with DPF installed? Seems like dumb questions, but it's an easy mistake.
I would give Spartan a call as their world revolves around our trucks and they are pretty quick with suggestions.
I fixed the map error- guess when i checked pcm connections i knocked the intake hose loose and it was sucking air- whew what a relief.
truck is going to ford dealership for generator/alternator/voltage regulator problem and also to fix the leaky upper radiator hose. I am sure they will do the pcm update so I will have some tuner updates to do.
The Spartan guys (and gals) are great. Quick service and always willing to help answer questions.
