Do you get anything different when you select 4x4 high? Indicator light on? Any clicking of relays?

Always good to use them for 5-10 miles a month plus it is fun...

Have you checked for fuses in the truck plus under the hood? Could be dirty/corroded connections. I don't think it is a difficult system to track thru the truck.

Amen to AzPete. I agree. I got mine from a travelling saleswoman who had not put it in 4WD in years. However, I did get lights and relay click. I shifted to neutral and pushed the 4Hi, 4Lo buttons for about a minute for several days and the shift motor finally freed up. Now I shift at least monthly and run in 4WD every time I am off road.

I was also thinking corroded conections on the back of the switch but I will check the fuses.

Definitely engage this system monthly. It not only keeps the shift motor and t-case mechanisms moving properly, it keeps the front differential gearing from self destructing the first time you use it. That ring gear and associated bearings sit there up front for weeks, months even years not getting ANY lube and the moisture/humidity in the diff casing causes the surface to flash rust repeatedly. Next thing you know, you engage the 4WD and you get about half a mile before the noise is deafening or the ring gear becomes a pile of little rusty shards in the bottom of the housing.
