I have a 1995 F150 302 and am getting code 122. I see there are two screws holding the TPS on the throttle body. Does the Throttle body have to come off to replace it? There's a bit of room underneath. Just thought I'd pick some brains from people that had replaced it before.
I've heard it's ALOT easier if you remove the Throttle Body to replace the TPS on the 302's. Thank God I have a 4.9 and the Throttle Body and TPS are right on top! Just replaced mine about a week ago.
Thanks! I was looking again before checking replies. I have a small ratchet that fits around the small hex bits but even the short bits are too long so your advice is correct. I'll have to get a new gasket before I try doing the change.
Replaced......... bought a can of TB cleaner and got it looking like new. Adjusted TB sensor to read .95V at closed throttle. WOT reads 4.5V. Buttoned her up and started right away. Runs like a dream and no more codes. Had an earlier ECT failure a couple of years ago and the TB was pretty gunked up on the manfold side due to the richness it was running at the time. All is good!
