The waste gate is like an emergency release valve. If your turbo makes too much boost the waste gate will let some out to protect the engine. Disabling the wastegate means your turbo will always make as much boost as possible.
The wastegate is more for protecing the turbo than the engine.
To answer the OP's question it is not deleting the wastegate but defeating the wastegate by disconnecting the red pressure line from the wastegate actuator. This will keep the actuator from opening the wastegate.
i got lots to learn ... what i did "comprehend", which it hurt after some of those post, was from Pocket, about the wastegate not functioning correctly, causing all sorts of things, and one in particular, was the egt's. With my "new" rebuilt turbo (turbo i purchased to rebuild), i defitnly noticed a difference in performance...psi, egt's,..etc. Think tomorrow, will "tool" around the wastegate arm and see if i can "tune" it some.
