Is there a free way to up boost via the waste gate, or somthing?

I know on my IDI 7.3 I could adjust the waste gate rod an up the boots from there. Is there a way to do this on a DI 7.3?

And what will the safest amount of boot you can use on a daily basis.

Thank!

un hook the red hose from the canister up on the turbo and plug the red line using the stud off of one the IC boot clamps..you will see faster spool up and be able to build 30 lb of boost on a chipped truck..25lb on a stocker...keep in mind every time you go over 25lb of boost you shorten the life of the turbo bearing...sponsors do heave the big head canister for this as well..also a boost fooler is always good to have as well..IMO this is the best one out there

So 25lbs and under are considered "safe" #'s?

Is this mod common?

One more, do you need to plug the hole on the canister? Or leave it open?

Thanks again for your help!

no need to plug the other end ....rick is right as well..if you have the stock wheel..you will get turbo surge...that is by far worse on the turbo then over boosting..it will sound like a pressure cooker if you get it...thanks Rick i have the WW and have yet felt what surge feels like...

The WW in on my list. I need to change brakes and roters first.

Ron, you must be close to having another green square box.

www.boostvalve.com has a good one. Unlike stock, it doesn't allow the wastegate to open till it reaches the set pressure. IOW, faster spool up

Have you checked your boots for leaks? That is a common problem for not getting the boost you should be getting. Also the up-pipes could be leaking.

Just a couple things to think about/

You can still adjust the rod on the wastegate solenoid.
Boost fooler is really the way to go though.

I can get 30# but the turbo does not like to see more than 25#. If your boots are oily, take them off and clean them and make sure they are on good and tight enough. You can make a boost tester with pvc and use air compresor to check for leaks. Someone has a good pic of one they made. Might search for the tester. There are 6 boots so check all.

The up-pipes will have black soot on them if they are leaking. Usually at the top of the pipe going into the babys butt.
