Well, if Ranger 80 confirms he doesn't have those two connectors at the bottom of the dash, then I'd say it was a mid year change.

If Ranger 80 has those connectors, then I'd say it was a updated part that can fit the older 1980 with the correct clock harness. Ford is notorious for updating parts and part numbers etc...

I'll have a look-see in my 1980 service manuals and see what I can find. They were published mid year 1979, so if there is a difference, it should show it.

Dad's (9/80 build) and Rusty (10/80) both have those connectors, as I'm sure you would expect. Had my hands on them today in fact. (And, they have amber turn signals.

)

Yes, because yours are 81's...

My book says 11/80 up for amber turn signals, but I get your point.

I think I have a 1980 clock in my garage, the kind with the rubber trailer connector.

Got it some time ago, never thought about additional harnesses to go with it.

you shouldnt need to cut and splice wires your looking for a light grey plug in that resembles a lego with 4 wires attatched and will only plug in 1way i have an 81 F-100 also ifound mine laying on the amidst a bundle of wires
