Althrough I already have gauges I was thinking of getting the Scan Gauge 2 to add more info. I know it does battery voltage but does it also do FICM voltage? Can it monitor fuel pressure with an adapter too? Does it do anything else that can be useful? As I said above I have most gauges except for fuel pressure and oil pressure. Thanks for the info.

 

It will NOT do fuel pressure, EGT's or engine oil pressure since there aren't any PCM sensors to monitor those functions. Here's my short list:

I might add a comment to Tim's list. That's a hell of a lot of monitoring for $159 bucks. See what that many gauges would cost. It can also read certain DTC's.

The SGII only reads via the ODBII port the existing Ford sensors.
The fuel pressure, oil pressure, and exhaust gas temp are the
most common things that require you to add your own sensors
AND gauges - since Ford doesn't monitor those with the computer.

The dashboard oil pressure is really a glorified idiot light:
indicating there IS or is NOT oil pressure greater than 5 or 7.5 PSI.

The SGII also give you access to trip and fuel mileage data which is
also very informative.

 

where can you buy a scan gauge 2, does any autopart store carry them

 

Got mine from Amazon.com. I mounted it above the mirror with the Blend Mount....also from Amazon.com.

 

I got mine through cleanmpg.org. If you join their forum you can get it for about $132. Shipping was quick.

I haven't decided on a permanent mounting yet but currently have it
mounted inside the ashtray with velcro, on the bottom edge just behind the latch. You can close the ashtray when not using it.

 

I have one for sale for $75 shipped. Just e-mail me at aviles613@aol.com if you want it. It's less than 6 months old. Just sold the truck and don't need it. Some X-Guages already loaded.

and since the SG uses the factory senders you see what the PCM is seeing and the info is not corupt

depending how the after market gauges are ran they may have a biased reading and may not be correct due to sender location and wiring issues

its well woth the money Iv caught a few issues with mine before catastropic failure so its paid for itself 10 times over
